The Santa Ana Rock & Mineral Club serves rock and mineral enthusiasts who are interested in meeting with other people who share an interest in this spectacular hobby. Some topics included in meeting discussions are: copper mines, agates, silversmithing, fossils, lapidary, field trips, crystals, rock polishing, faceting and much more.


The purpose of the Club is to offer an opportunity for those who are interested in rocks, minerals and fossils, to gather at regular meetings, display and examine items of interest in the hobby, to promote and also encourage the art and practice of lapidary, to exchange experiences and ideas, to organize field trips for members and guests, and to promote the general interest in and knowledge of the hobby.


Meetings are held in Fountain Valley, but visitors are welcome from all over Orange County.

Members hail from cities such as Fountain Valley, Santa Ana, Orange, Irvine, Costa Mesa, Huntington Beach, Laguna Hills, Aliso Viejo, El Toro, Mission Viejo, San Clemente, San Juan Capistrano, and Anaheim.

Overview

The purpose of SARM (Santa Ana Rock & Mineral Club) is to promote and encourage the art and practice of lapidary.

Our monthly meetings (visitors are welcome), offer an opportunity for people who are interested in rocks, minerals and fossils, to gather with fellow enthusiasts and share their knowledge, experiences, and ideas. Exhibits, speakers, movies, craft projects, and slide shows about items of interest in the hobby are some of the things presented at the meetings.

9:00 AM to 12 PM  Saturday & Sunday

Call our workshop supervisors, club's lifetime members for available hours to attend

   Club Benefits


  • Organaized field trips and campouts show you where to go to find rocks,

          and help you learn how to identify what you have found.


  • At our club shop you learn how to use club equipments to cut, shape and polish the rocks you find, and our knowledgeable members can show you how to turn your finds into beautiful jewelry, clocks, carvings, and other items.


  • We have an active Junior membership (under 18 years).

          For safety reasons, we do require that at least one responsible adult join with a

          junior member.


  • Workshop for members only and operates on the first consecutive Saturday and Sunday of the month (9AM - noon) and by appointment at other times.
